digital inquiry

The Working Group for Digital Inquiry is an interdisciplinary configuration of scholars who are interested using digital techniques of iterative analysis and visualization to pursue and expand traditional inquiry in the humanities. The group was organized by Michael Witmore of the University of Wisconsin-Madison English Department, and is currently sponsored and housed in Memorial Library.

Currently the group is host to a project that is mapping the genres of English print in the database of Early English Books Online. It is also working with faculty from the departments of Linguistics, Classics and Archaeology on other projects that can match digital tools with humanists who can make use of them in their scholarly work.
